ABS-5 and 8j

Dear all, preparations for ABS-5 are getting started. We are waiting on confirmation of some funding, but in the meantime we have put out a call for participation in this meeting - see the sidebar under ABS-5/8j. Note the deadline for applications is September 3rd. Also note that these meetings are quite technical and we have limited funds and as such we will be only considering those with considerable experience with the issues.

Otherwise, I encourage civil society representatives working on the issue to sign up to the new ABS focused email listserve. to sign up, just send a note to:  abs_cbd-subscribe@yahoogroups.com or to me: jdempsey ... interchange.ubc.ca (... means @). This is where all discussions around the upcoming meetings will take place. A strategy session is being planned for just prior to ABS 5 in Montreal.
