How is the CBD Alliance governed?

The CBD Alliance is governed by Board which has been selected by the civil society community, and is composed of civil society members from each of the following regions: Latin America, Middle East/Central Asia, North America, Europe, Russia/CIS, Asia, Oceania, Africa. In addition, there are two representatives from the International Indigenous Forum for Biodiversity (IIFB) as well as representatives from the COPs host country NGO community. Projects and activities receive on-going feedback and input from the entire CBD Alliance through the listserver and around CBD meetings (SBSTTAs and COPs). Project funds are managed by Kalpavriksh. Project activities are currently managed by two co-coordinators, advised by the Board.

As of the 1 January 2009, the new CBD Alliance Board for the 2009/2010 has begun their work.To view the list of new Board members, including a short bio on each, please click here.
